Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. i'm in the living room

i'm in the living room i'm in the living room oh yeah oh yeah

well, i got my baby. it's currently serving it's main function, that is to say, keeping my lap quite toasty. my battery life really sucks balls, but that's coz it came w/ the super-basic battery. the super-nice battery costs $150. not bad, i guess, but i've just spent all my money on this shiney piece of metal and plastic, so i'm a little broke. as in, thank god i just set up that overdraft protection. also i need some more ram. it's only got 256 mBs. my desktop's got 512, and so now 256 just seems pathetically slow. that's only gonna be like $50, so it'll probably be that first and then the battery. it's alright for now. for a while i'm mostly going to be using it for web browsing and NaNoWriMo activities, so it should be alright until i can save up some cash.

as for NaNo, i've joined ~NaNoWriters and !FantasyWritersUnited has their little thing going on, so i'm all Engaged in the Cause. my plot ideas are as follows:

hindu world reset.

i think i'll dedicate it to michael. he's the one that came up w/ The Plot. i think Lord Shiva will be my main character. and i think maybe he's gonna have a servant. of course in hinduism, he is usually accompanied by his wife Uma, but i think i want him to have a male servant. i'm not sure why yet, it's just instinct at this point. i've got some notes, now i've gotta go organize them. to help me out, i've got a cool program that was recommended to me over at ~NaNoWriters, rough draft. it's made just for writers, so if you're a writer, you might wanna give it a try.

anyhow, not much else is really going on, i just couldn't control myself any longer, my excitement had to explode all over dA.
